WELCOME TO
DEEP RUN APIARY
The Sweetest Thing In Town

THE STORY OF DEEP RUN APIARY
Deep Run Apiary began in 2021 during the pandemic. The name was derived from the 11.9 mile Deep Run tributary of the Patapsco River that begins in Howard County community of Montgomery Meadows where the apiary began. The lower course of the tributary forms part of the border between Howard and Anne Arundel counties and eventually winds its way to the Chesapeake Bay.

Deep Run has deep connections with history. It was home to Native Americans (Susquehannock and Piscataway) as evident by the discovery of arrowheads, spearpoints, axes and gorgets. Deep Run also provided regular hiding places for enslaved people traveling north in search of freedom with the assistance of Harriet Tubman.

Ever since our first colony of honey bees, we’ve been committed to raising awareness to the importance of bees in nature and the dangers they face. Deep Run Apiary is great way to learn all about the bee ecosystem in suburban America, the beekeeping trade and of course, taste our unique honey.
